Custom cakes are unique and made to order, and our prices reflect that. They aren't what you would typically find at a grocery store, and therefore cannot be compared. At Cafe 1, our custom cakes take hours and sometimes days to make. They are always made fresh from scratch; nothing is pre-made or frozen - this include all fillings and buttercreams by using quality ingredients and REAL butter. No filler or shortening, just the real thing.
Majority of our edible colors, especially any metallic, gold, and silver colors are special ordered from Europe, UK, or Australia due to their strict FDA regulation. When their products are labeled "edible", it means they are SAFE for use on any edible product. When searching for edible gold colors made in the USA, we have found that although it is labeled "edible", there is fine print of "not recommended for consuming". So as long as you don't eat too much of it, it is safe, but is it really? We treat our clients like our family, and we want to make sure everything we use is truly safe, as it should be.

Listed base price above can give you a general idea of the estimated starting price of your cake. Factors that add to the price include amount of cake sculpting, cake construction, fondant decorations, amount of the buttercream used, detailed piping, or other time consuming design elements.
